The Spanish Steps are a monument in Rome, Italy that link the Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps) to the Piazza Trinità dei Monti. The steps cover a steep sloped between these two plazas and lead up to the Trinita dei Monti church. This was the church that was known for being under the patronage of the Bourbon kings of France. The Spanish Steps are known to be the widest and longest staircase in all of Europe. This staircase contains 138 steps, and it is not just a monument and landmark.
